When I was a little kid there was a girl who rode r bus. She was fat and had really ugly teeth, black %26amp; yellow, the kids made fun of her. Her hair was greesy and straight. She was called snagle tooth. She would look out the window pretend not 2 hear and cry all the way home. Made me so sad. I saw her, she came back to visit. When she got out of school she got a job, went to weight watchers and learned about proper neutrition, got her teeth fixed, cut, permed and fixed her hair. She was so beautiful! Married to a cute guy. Grandma said, that's why i want u2 learn proper neutrition, don't let u eat junk food, make u brush ur teeth."Annie said, school was so painful for her. Why don't teachers help?

I don't think you should blame the teacher, after all most of the spiteful behavour goes on outside of class On the school bus the poor kid is probably just wondering how long before she can quit school and get away from her antagonisers It does'nt matter that she changed from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan.If she'd stayed ugly she deserved better.

I don't think this is there job. They can't ride the bus with the kids and protect everyone. But I agree when harrassment affects a child this much maybe she could have suggested something.

Some teachers do help, but kids are cruel if you do not fit in, I never was part of the "in" crowd but I learned to adjust my outlook and managed to make enough friends that I was comfortable during school, but I do have to say that a teacher helped me do this by paring me up for a project with another student similar to me and we hit it off great, so maybe they do try subtly and we just do not see it

Sorry to say Teachers don't help really help anyone. That's why we have people graduating and still can not read or write, that's why teen suicide is on the uprise. No one wants to take that step and be the one to make a difference in someones life. People place to much emphasis on looks, rather than what's going on inside. Outside can change daily, inside we are what we are. I am glad your schoolmate turned out ok, unlike so many who don't make it this far.

Because most teachers today only care about their wallets and what to do to make their job easier. "Go home and research the internet" thats the new slogan for teachers nationwide. Its an embarassment. The teachers union are a bunch of overpayed bigots. Constantly striking even though the kids in america are dropping out of schools like flies. A teachers students should be like extended family. They should focus in on the weak kids instead of trying so hard on the kids who already have support.

The word "Human" can be so cruel on each other no matter where you come from or your job, a teacher should know better as the same as the kids parents, it make me sad to hear this. It is most certianly not the teachers fault that the girl didnt brush her teeth or wash her hair, it is her parents, the question you should have asked is why didnt her parents do anything about it. Do I think it is right, no Im not saying that but teachers are limited in what they are allowed to say, or do in those situations.

I'm sure that most teachers want to but there are so many children in the class that it's unfair to give individual attention and also risk breaching child protection laws.

Even if the teacher does educate their pupils about healthy eating, it's impossible to ensure that these values are enforced out of school.

Some parents get very defensive if a teacher or anyone for that matter, is to question their parenting.

Teachers also are already under a lot of pressure to meet academic targets and installing other values, how ever useful they may be, is impossible to fit in to the timetable.

It's really sad when children have a hard time at school but we often grow up to be stronger adults because of it.

Youre not annie are you. Also its like when a bully bullies and never gets caught. However the get getting Bullied does for defending him/her self. One more thing its our culture from Womens magazines,Models etc. Its looked upon like they did this to him/her self!!!!!
