Can somebody help me make friends?

I'm home schooled and have no friends, I go to the pool in the apartment complex I live in and a lot of kids my age go there too but I don't know how too make friends with them. I have diving sticks and ask them if they would like to dive with my sister and me but they always turn me down. I forgot to tell you I am 13 years old and my sister is 11. And I'm kind of shy so I don't do super wild things. Can someone tell me how to make friends with them, 13 is too old to have no friends. and I don't want to scare them of sence my hair is all matted down and my sister says I do look scary when my hair is matted down.

Well, basicly, because I'm 13 like you, there's only 2 things you can do:

1) You can try to talk to someone. Find something in common with anything, like clothing, shoes, make-up, t.v., anything. As long as you have 1 friend, more friends will be easier.

2) This is when there's no possible choice to get friends. This is when there's nothing else works. This is Plan Z. Step 1: Do research on what others would be impressed about. Step 2: Show off when you complete your research. That's it. Show off. This will give you either a positive or negitive result. Positive: All the kids will think you're awsome. Negitive: You'll either be thought of as a wierd-o and have that awfull silence look, and getting friends will be harder. This is if nothing else works.

well really all you need to do is talk to people. your parents must be friends with other parents, so get together with their kids. good luck!

You have to just be yourself. Maybe try a game of water baseball or something that takes a few more kids to play. Just try talking with them and finding out what they like, what you all have in common.

That's awesome you're homeschooled. I've been homeschooled all my life. I haven't ever had the problem with friends because I have such a large family that all my cousins are my friends. So I don't really know what to tell you. Don't give up though.

The way I met her was at the pool, she came up to me and ask me if I wanted to play with her, at frist I said "No thanks, I'm fine!" and then realized I was being mean, and should try to be freinds with everyone... I think that maybe if they are turning you down than that's their problem you should join a club or a team or just something that you are interested in so that then you can meet people and they'll like the same sort of stuff that you like, and don't try too hard freinds come naturally don't worry you'll find a freind soon!
